For our 1 Year Anniversary I wanted it to be a special and relaxing weekend for us. We stayed at the Crystal Inn in Logan and ate at the Blue Bird Restaurant (a place we had been to when we were dating). Logan is a special place for us because that is where we went on a lot of dates when Spencer went to Utah State. If we could, we would love to live there someday (if only it wasn't so dang cold!).
To celebrate, we reminisced about all our favorite memories from the past year and had some bubbly in champaigne glasses. As gifts we bought each other a Nintendo Wii and have been playing Mario Brothers and enjoying Netflix!
I made sure to save our wedding cake for our one year anniversary. I heard so many great stories of how the cake stays really good and tastes just like it did on your wedding day. LIES! We barely could eat any of it because it went bad...probably because we left it out a couple days before we ate it since we were eating so many sweets around the time of our anniversary. By the time we finally got to eating it the frosting smelled foul, but Katie and Travis made us try it. Gross! But I'm glad we did it for the memory. Hehe.
Here are a couple pictures from our wedding one year ago :) The first two are from the reception in Sonora, and the rest are from the reception and temple in Utah. We were sealed in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple by his grandfather Richard Bagley. Such a special experience for me to go through the temple!
Here we are giving our speeches at the Sonora Reception. Elder Bagley is very known to the people of Sonora, since this is where he served his mission. My brother Dustin was his ward mission leader and when Spencer came home from his mission he made Spencer look me up and take me on a date.
Who knew we would end up getting married? Thanks again Dust!
Our wonderful family and friends who came to the sealing
I couldn't have asked for a better person to be my husband. I love him so much and we have grown together in so many ways over this past year. How lucky I am to spend so much time with my best friend. He always makes me laugh, is kind, loving, and such a hard worker. I love you so much Spence!
Some of our favorite memories from this last year
1. Honeymoon to St. George
2. Weekend adventures in Monte Cristo
3. Going to California and back to see family and my dad's wedding
4. Celebrating my 25th birthday
5. Making our house a home
6. Spencer teaching me how to cook...seriously, he's so good!
7. Snowmobiling & dirt biking
8. Celebrating our first Christmas together
9. Spencer almost breaking his collar bone in a bike wreck...so awesome!
10. Marathon in St. George, cliff jumping, and swimming!

That's great that Spencer is teaching you how to cook! Travis is a better cook then me... he's taught me a lot too!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! You guys are so adorable.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteWe got ourselves a nintendo Wii for christmas last year. We've played it all of like 7 times though because we never have time lol. You guys should come over with your remotes and we can have a mario kart tournament or something!
We got out our cake for Dave's birthday last year because we forgot to eat it on our anniversary. We served it to some friends that came over for his birthday. It wasn't that bad, just tasted a bit freezer burned. I'm glad we now have that space in the freezer for other things lol
